How to Install Parador Laminate Flooring |
Preparing the surface |
CONCRETE SUBFLOOR |
New construction: |
In the case of new concrete floors, you need to leave the base floor to dry for at least a week if the thickness does not exceed 4 cm and double the amount of time for thicker concrete layers. |
Renovation: |
Remove any type of soft flooring like carpets before installation. If the existing floor coverings are damp sealed, like PVC, linoleum or VCT, you do not need to remove them.
Always use underlay. |
WOODEN SUBFLOOR |
After removing the existing flooring, check the floor for stability, and fix any problems, if any. You can use special layers to level the floor if neccessary.
The direction of the planks must be crosswise from the one of the previous flooring and you need to ensure that the crawl space under the laminated floor has enough ventilation and that the moisture content does not exceed 12%.
After cleaning the base floor and smoothing out any irregularities, install the sub floor. |
Acclimatization |
Place the laminate floor covering packs in the middle of the room where you plan to install them and leave them unopen for 48 hours prior to the installation to allow them to acclimate. |
Installing the laminate flooring |
Before installing the laminate floors mix the content of various boxes for an even variation throughout the surface of the floor and use expansion blocks to account for an 8-10 mm gap that allows the floor to contact or expand when exposed to fluctuating humidity levels. |
