arrow Preparing the room
Make sure that the doors can still open after installing the underlay and the floor. Also, check whether the old molding can be removed and make sure that the under floor is clean, dry and flat – any unevenness greater than 2 mm over the length of 1 meter must be smoothed out.

arrow New construction:
In case of new concrete floors, you need to leave the base floor to dry for at least a week if the thickness does not exceed 4 cm and double the amount of time for thicker concrete layers. Also, make sure that the moisture level does not exceed 2.5% or 5 lbs/24 hours per 1000 sqft.
arrowRenovation:
Remove any type of soft flooring like carpets before installation. If the existing floor coverings are damp sealed, like PVC, linoleum or VCT, you do not need to remove them.

Always use underlay.
arrow WOODEN SUBFLOOR
After removing the existing flooring, check the floor for stability, and fix any problems, if any. You can use special layers to level the floor if necessary.

The direction of the planks must be crosswise from the one of the previous flooring and you need to ensure that the crawl space under the laminated floor has enough ventilation and that the moisture content does not exceed 12%.
arrow Installing the floor
First install the QuickStep Screen underlay per width and gradually as you progress, by letting the membrane run up the wall a few inches before cutting it to size.

Thanks to the Unilink system, the first floor strip is affixed to the under floor panel. The two other strips are clicked into the first strip. First slide the strips, then cut the panel as shown in diagrams 2-3-4-5-6.
