Also, check whether the old molding can be removed and make sure that the under floor is clean, dry and flat – any unevenness greater than 2 mm over the length of 1 meter must be smoothed out. CONCRETE SUBFLOOR New construction: In case of new concrete floors, you need to leave the base floor to dry for at least a week if the thickness does not exceed 4 cm and double the amount of time for thicker concrete layers. Also, make sure that the moisture level does not exceed 2.5% or 5 lbs/24 hours per 1000 sqft. Renovation: Remove any type of soft flooring like carpets before installation.
